I was first drawn to the field of speech pathology on the basis of it being a scientific field that is centered on care for people, my two favorite things! I moved to Dallas to pursue my Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology and Child Learning and Development. I stayed at the University of Texas at Dallas (whoosh!) to complete my Master’s degree in Communication Disorders.
My clinical experience has been in public services, including five years in the public schools and a few years in Early Childhood Intervention (ECI). Between both of those, I’ve worked with children from birth to 22 with a variety of diagnoses. My areas of experience include articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, pragmatic language skills, fluency disorders (stuttering and cluttering), feeding disorders, AAC implementation, and family coaching. I am also passionate about continually learning, which looks like keeping up with research and best practices to ensure I am providing the very best services for your child. One of my greatest joys is supporting autistic individuals towards self-advocacy and connection; not just to have individual skills for the sake of having them, but to really thrive.
My therapeutic approach is play-based, neuro-affirming, sensory-aware, and always aims for the child’s overall well-being. I truly believe that every child is capable of learning and creating meaningful relationships within their community. I am committed to being your child’s biggest fan as we do difficult things together and celebrate all the small wins!
