My speech therapy journey began when I worked for a therapy staffing company. I was doing marketing and had the privilege to visit several clinics and hospitals. While visiting these, I never meet an SLP that didn’t love their job! This peaked my interest. I was always interested in healthcare and fell in love with speech therapy when I got to see it firsthand.
I received my bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M (Whoop!) and went on to receive my Master’s degree in Communication Disorders at The University of Texas at Dallas. I did my internship at Speech & OT of North Texas and was so impressed with the quality of services they provided, I knew I wanted to work with the exceptional therapists, staff and families. I worked at Speech & OT full-time for a year, had children and then returned to work here as a part-time speech therapist. I enjoy working with all ages in the pediatric clinic, from preschool age to school age and with a variety of disorders including, but not limited to, autism, Down syndrome, articulation, phonology, receptive, expressive and social language and non-verbal disorders. My clients bring wonderful and challenging surprises to my job every day, and I am so glad to be part of changing children’s lives for the better!
